About us

Hi, we’re Nook

Nook is a calm household app for splitting bills, caring for plants, sharing grocery lists, organising chores, keeping shared notes and planning guest lists with the people you live with. Three of us build it in Łódź, Poland.

It started with Natalia

Planners she made for herself

Natalia made planners for years before Nook existed. A habit tracker that fit how her brain worked, a weekly spread that didn’t feel like a chore, a plant care sheet for the fridge.

Friends noticed, then friends of friends. She started selling them on Etsy, and a personal ritual became something hundreds of people relied on.

Then we all moved in together

Shared chaos needed shared tools

When Natalia moved in with Tomasz and his brother Piotr, the household chaos became shared chaos. Who’s doing the dishes? What did we spend on groceries? Who owes who for the grill supplies?

Paper worked for a while. Then we added an app for expenses, another for chores, another for the plants. We were managing apps instead of our home.

Why nothing worked

Every tool had a catch

  • All-in-one tools do everything, and nothing

Infinite flexibility, but building the thing you need takes hours. You end up maintaining a workspace instead of using one.

  • Single-purpose apps do one thing only

A great bill splitter, then a separate app for chores, groceries and plants. Four logins, four places to check.

The team

Three people, one flat

We all work in tech, so when we found the problem, we built the fix. We use Nook every week, which means the roadmap is mostly things we need ourselves.

Why “Nook”

A cosy corner. That’s the whole idea.

A nook is the corner you retreat to with a blanket and a warm drink when you want to feel settled. We grew up on lofi study streams, that sense of quiet focus while the world does its thing, and we wanted the app to feel like that.

Not software you wrestle with. Not a system you maintain. A place you actually want to open. The name stuck, and so did the calico cat.

A fair price, one plan

$25 a year. No hidden tiers, no features behind a premium plan, no subscription that’s awkward to cancel. It’s the price we’d want to pay ourselves.
